Good morning, everyone! The Super Bowl is over, and Tom Brady gets another ring! Maybe. I'm writing this to you before the Super Bowl, so I don't know yet. The Chiefs are favored by three points, so it's a heck of a close match according to Vegas bookmakers. As a Bruce Arians fan, I'd love to see him go home with a ring, and for Tom Brady to get another one for all of us "old" guys out there! So, I'm rooting for the Bucs!
I was talking to my old friend Damion last week about entrepreneurship and a new venture I'm kicking off, and he said "Scott, an advantage you have over everyone else is that you've started something. Most people never do, so they're scared to do it. You don't have that fear, and that's a game changer."
In some ways, he's right. I've started multiple businesses, and failed in every single one of them, until Top Class Actions. Gosh, even after I started TCA, I kicked off a few side projects and none of them took off. Now, I'm working on a new business I plan on building into a billion dollar global powerhouse. Yep, billion dollars. If you're going to reach for the stars, may as well go for Alpha Centauri, right? Don't just try to hit the star you're currently orbiting, go big!
So, how can I do that? Well, it's the next iteration of Top Class Actions, kind of. It's something that I pitched to potential acquirers of TCA in the early years. It's something that's needed, and I have clients for it now, I just need to build it. I've spent the past decade noodling it, but only recently do I have the ability to actually do it. So, here we go!
I hope you give yourself the chance to start something. It doesn't have to be a huge, mega-business. I was told the Founder of a (now) huge web host set his goal to start a million dollar company first, then he aimed for ten million, then a hundred million, and now his companies are over the billion dollar mark. Heck, he even loved golf so much he started a golf club company!
If you have the idea, I hope you build it. I hope you try! That's the most important thing that my friend Damion touched on. I keep trying. I keep building. I may fail at some things, but I keep going, and I continue to try new things. That's a superpower everyone has, the ability to try.
That's all for now! Make it a GREAT week!
Warm Regards,
Scott Hardy
