Good morning, amazing TCA viewers! How was your Memorial Day Weekend? Monday was an official company holiday for the entire TCA team, so it was a day filled with swimming pools, BBQ grills, time with families, and remembering our fallen heroes.
Memorial Day is special for Americans as we take time to honor military service members, from all branches of the military, who lost their lives in support of our country. I remember visiting the Vietnam War Memorial (the Wall) in Washington, D.C., and reading hundreds of names. Sometimes family members and friends left little gifts for their fallen heroes at the base of the wall. One of those items was a little toy Corvette sports car.
That Corvette sports car choked me up, because that could have been my dad who was lost, and his dream back when he was in Vietnam was a corvette. Thankfully for me, Dad came back from Vietnam, met my mom when he resumed college, and had me a few years later. If we lost Dad in Vietnam it could have been one of his brothers who left that little Corvette in his memory. Thank God that didn't happen!
Dad eventually DID get his Corvette, about 20 years later (somehow right when I was moving out of the house so I couldn't borrow it...) My Dad's license plate on the Corvette? "FINALLY". Finally. Yep, he finally got it! He also only got one speeding ticket while he owned it, so way to be responsible, Dad!
