Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week and are rocking and rolling your way into August! We're keeping busy as always. Recently, I was thumbing my way through Twitter and came across a post from Scott Kurtz. Scott created a wonderfully geeky comic I used to read daily called Player vs Player, or PvP. Scott helped his Dad for the past few years after he suffered multiple strokes. That took his attention away from his business, but now he's back. In fact, he's taking a break from the geeky comic strips and writing about a new character, Mort (the Grim Reaper, but friendly?), as he processes what he went through with his Dad, his Dad's strokes, and vascular dementia. They're great comics and hit close to home with me since my Dad has graduated from early-onset dementia to Alzheimer's. Start that story arc here (no need to be a geek to "get" the humor).
Scott mentioned that he felt "unmoored." I chimed in, letting him know how much his work helped me throughout the years, and that he brings joy to millions of people, even when he's down. Even when Scott was down, he still offered to help me. That's a solid person right there.
We're now corresponding and it's a great reminder of how hard entrepreneurship (and life) is. We get curveballs thrown our way all the time. Hopefully you've got a support system in place to help you. I've got my beautiful bride to speak to. She's always happy to go on a walk, have some coffee, or just sit with me for a few minutes so I can process something weighing me down. I also have Steve and the rest of my leadership team to bounce things off of. I'm lucky that I've got this support system. I hope you do as well!
